About Whole Child Education

I am honored and excited to introduce you to an initiative within the PGSD that will allow us to lead the state and the nation in terms of meeting the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of our students! The Whole-Child Education Initiative is being implemented in order to help our district continue to create and streamline programs that support staff and ensure that each child, in each school, in each community, is Healthy, Safe, Engaged, Supported, and Challenged.

Through this initiative, our district is emphasizing the implementation of positive behavioral intervention supports in each school and throughout the district. Our goal is to continue to create environments in which every student is afforded the opportunity to thrive. We believe that as our teachers and staff continue to build their understanding of how to address the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students, they will be better equipped to adjust their practices to lead to improved outcomes for all students. With this in mind, we have developed a variety of resources and tools related to effective classroom management for all PGSD teachers and staff.
